Toldot/”Generations”, Genesis 25:9-28:9, serves as the transition to the next generation, from Abraham to Isaac, and by the end to Jacob! Once again it is interesting to note that this Torah portion opens with the enigmatic statement “elleh toldot”…seen 10x’s throughout the scroll of Genesis (we referenced this last time regarding Noah)! It reveals that this timeframe becomes a pivotal moment that will affect the course of the entire generation and the outcome of the season, what the legacy will be. The opening statement once again calls our attention to it. What will direct the course of this generation?
