Fall Feasts Harvest

We find ourselves in the season where the long days of summer are beginning to wind down, and we anticipate the shift that Fall brings, the crisp air, the changing color of the leaves, and a sense of anticipation begins to build. There's always an excitement for Fall, but what we may not realize is that the Creator put that anticipation for autumn in us because it's directly tied to His set apart times and Feasts.
The Fall Feasts are the end of the harvest season. To reap the harvest, seed had to be sown, cultivated, watered, and cared for all summer long leading up to the gathering of the fruit. In our society today, we have become so removed from the cycles and rhythms that were intimately ingrained into Biblical Israel! The Feast cycles taught Israel through the agricultural seasons spiritual lessons.
Lessons of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7 - "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."); lessons of creation being at peace and fruitful when man is obedient to Yahweh; and lessons that His Word is seed that brings forth a harvest in our lives.
As we begin to close out summer, let's take a moment to look at the fields of our lives. What have we planted....what harvest is on the horizon? The law of sowing and reaping can't be avoided. Yet the Mo'edim teach us how to walk in teshuva - restoration. To see the harvests that the locusts have eaten restored. So as we prepare to enter the 6th month of Elul....when the King is in the field...the thoughts that cross our mind is what crop will He find growing in our hearts? What fields are in need of teshuva? And is there a seed He can work with?
The natural and the spiritual are mirrors of one another! We no longer live in an agrarian society where we bring the first fruits of our fields...but we do have financial seed that can be sown into His kingdom. Whether we like to acknowledge this or not...that's seed, and as stewards of what He has entrusted us with we should be diligently seeking good ground to plant in.
Here at Remnant Manna United, we pray and walk daily in this role of stewardship regarding the seed He brings in. It's His field, His seed, His resources. We believe it's good ground, proven ground. And so as we prepare to enter the Fall Feast season, we're asking those of you who have gleaned from the harvest - the teachings, the resources, the prayers, the counseling - to consider sowing a special seed towards the harvest He has in store for us.
But whether you choose to sow in this way or not....powerful lessons are found in this season and we pray the King finds you in the field!
